Training to Promote the Responsible Use of Alcohol

What: Facilitator Training
Where: Prince Albert Travelodge
3351 2nd Avenue, Prince Albert, SK.
When: May 8, 9 and 10, 2018
8:30 am – 4:00 pm (1/2 hour lunch break, lunch provided)
Why: To learn how to facilitate planning with local groups or community members who have identified a project or activity that they will complete that promotes the responsible use of alcohol.
Who: Participants need to have a keen interest in community development and commit to working with local groups or individuals on a volunteer basis to promote CASSC’s message about the responsible use of alcohol.
Facilitator, Bob Hornsberger, founder of Whole Person Training and Consulting Services, will be conducting a three-day workshop, Introduction to Facilitation – Level 1, in Prince Albert. The workshop provides a framework for facilitating groups and time for participants to practice their facilitation skills and receive feedback on their progress. Six topics will be covered:
- Establishing group guidelines
- Defining facilitation and its core values
- Facilitator roles and responsibilities, traps to avoid, and core qualities
- Facilitation skills assessment,
- Organizing a session
- Giving and receiving feedback.
CASSC is able to offer this workshop free of charge to you through a grant awarded to it by the Northern Lights Community Development Corporation. Lunch will be provided, and coffee and nutritious snacks at breaks. Please indicate any dietary restrictions/allergies.
